About the regatta

Welcome sailors.

Entrance to T.S.&C.C. is on Net Drive just off the Lakeshore Road

The Toronto Sailing and Canoe Club Icebreaker Regatta is a long standing tradition in the local sailing scene and a proving ground for many young sailors.  This is one of the first big regattas of the season and can be a test of skills as the weather can be a range of all types, but one thing is for sure, the water is cold!  Last year was a record for heavy winds forcing many sailors to err on the cautious side to sit out the grueling conditions or pay the penalty of having to be towed in dismasted.

We hope this year will be exciting racing and a challenge of skill.  We thank A.B.Y.C., R.C.Y.C. Mississauga and Etobicoke for their help in supplying personnel and boats for the event.

To all participants, volunteers and regatta support, thank you for making this one of our highlights in the racing scene.

    Hello,

I am a French intermediate sailor (mostly cruising different places around the world such as Iceland, West Indies, Australia, NZ, Indonesia, Thailand….).
I will be in Toronto for few days (20th to 25th May) and would love to sail on Ontario lake. My friend is novice but a fit swimmer and diver (and a doctor!).
Would there be any opportunity to join a friendly race or a cruise for few hours, or a day or two? I’ll be happy doing few hours of volunteer work in exchange during the same period of time.
Hope to hear from you and a big thank in advance.
    Mireille
